The Turlock Fire Department has a dedicated prevention division under the direction of the Fire Marshal. The Prevention Division consists of the Fire Prevention Bureau and the Fire Investigation Unit.

Fire Prevention Bureau
The City of Turlock Fire Prevention Bureau provides many services to the community. These services include: pre-development consultation, fire safety inspections, issuance of fire code permits, and plan review for new construction and fire protection systems. The bureau administers the Knox Key Safe program, conducts hydrant flow testing, and responds to citizen complaints
Fire Investigation Unit
The City of Turlock Fire Investigation Unit works to determine the cause and origin of suspicious fires. The unit performs fire scene investigations, collects and maintains evidence, conducts interviews with witnesses and suspects, makes arrests, and files criminal charges with the District Attorney’s office. The Fire Investigation Unit is complied of members from the Turlock Fire and Turlock Police Departments.
Fire Reports
Fire reports may be obtained at the Fire Administration office located at 900 N. Palm between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. The cost is $.15 per page. All Fire Reports need the approval of the Fire Marshal before being released; it is advised that you contact us via phone to pull the report. We can contact you when the report is ready
