Municipal Services manages a variety of areas which are vital in having a clean, safe, healthy and thriving community. The Department consists of five Divisions and 144 full-time employees who implement, deliver, operate and maintain the city's infrastructure systems and facilities. We also provide wholesome activities for youth and families.

METERED BILLING FOR WATER USAGE STARTS JAN. 2011
Beginning in January, 2011, all City of Turlock utility customers will be billed for water based on actual water consumption, as indicated by their water meter. Customers' water bills will no longer be based on a flat monthly rate. For a typical 1-inch or smaller water service, the City's current metered rate for water is $1.07 per 1,000 gallons with a minimum charge of $22.05. Therefore, typical (1-inch or less) customers receive 20,607 gallons of water for the minimum charge ($22.05 / $1.07 x 1000 = 20,607). In addition, there is a water meter replacement fee of $2.00 per month. Therefore, a typical (1-inch or less) water bill is $24.05 when a customer uses no more than 20,607 gallons of water per month. Any water use beyond 20,607 gallons is billed at a rate of $1.07 per 1,000 gallons. For example, if a customer (1-inch service or less) uses 35,000 gallons in a month, the bill would be calculated as 35,000 / 1,000 x $1.07 = $37.45. In addition, there is the $2.00 water meter replacement fee for a total monthly bill of $39.45. Please note that under the current water rate schedule, customers with larger water services (greater than 1-inch) are subject to a higher minimum charge and a higher water meter replacement fee.
