Vehicle Confinement Law

Pursuant to the City of Turlock Municipal Code, Section 6-1-317, it is unlawful to leave an animal in any unattended motorized vehicle without adequate ventilation that may endanger the health or well-being of such animal due to heat, cold, lack of food/drink or other circumstances expected to cause suffering, disability, or death.

City of Turlock Animal Services will reinspect the vehicle in 30 minutes. If the animal is not removed from the vehicle, we will forcibly remove and impound your animal at the shelter. A citation will be issued and fines must be paid prior to release.
